this evening was sunshine and little-boy-laughter, with rainboots and throwing rocks and so many bubbles. i love this sweet family and watching these little guys grow.
on the first day of this new year, i photographed my cousin and his lovely bride-to-be. i am so overjoyed that the Lord brought them together and i'm so tickled that holly will be part of our big family come summertime!
* truly, what an honor! and a delight! to fix my camera upon so many precious littles. i consider it a great privilege that they let into their beautiful worlds so openly -- reminding me to go out about each day with my eyes open so so so wide.
i am unspeakably blessed by this precious family. the way they open their hearts to me and have welcomed me into their lives is deeply edifying -- and how i am unable to leave their home without being encouraged and loved so fully. and those littles, they are wells of joy and creativity -- filling me always. i am grateful.
if you haven't already, you should check out the most recent edition of butterflies and anvils. eileen put so much thought and time and heart into this issue and it's truly beautiful. i'm personally grateful, and my older brother told me that my interview allowed him to understand why i do what i do, artistically and beyond. i thought that was very nice!
i highly recommend participating in this lovely project
i made this tiny scrapbook and kit for my cousin laura* the other day, out of little things i had:
* circa 1997, laura (who is 6 months younger than me) and i got really into scrapbooking together. other endeavors of the 90's included soap-making, monkey-bread baking, and quality manicures for all our aunts and cousins on family beach trips. i have deeply fond memories with that dear girl.
